An ongoing, occasionally-updated list of what I use. Inspired by uses.tech.

Hardware

Desktop (main development machine)

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5950X
  • GPU: PowerColor Red Devil RX 6900XT OC 16GB

  • CPU Cooler: Thermalright Aqua Elite 240 V3
  • Memory: Silicon Power Value Gaming DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz

Things I will change when I upgrade

I will swap out the ATX PSU for a SFX PSU to free up space within the case. The motherboard was re-used from a cheaper build I used for work only. The next mATX board will have more bells and whistles. I was running 4000MHz in the work build but moved that to my partners gaming machine.

A budget build, I wish I had more pci-e lanes. The next iteration will utilize enterprise hardware (Epyc or Xeon).
